Keep a moment, cut a long introduction, or shorten the ending. Choose where your clip starts and stops, check it, and save a new copy. Video contents are processed on your device.
Supported MP4, MOV and WebM inputs · One file at a time · Up to 512 MiB
Support depends on the codecs in your file and your browser. Drop a video here to begin.
Choose a video to get started.
Required video APIs are unavailable. Try an updated Chrome or Edge on a supported device.
This file cannot be played by the browser's preview player. You can still enter times and attempt an export if its video codec is supported.
Choose a thumbnail to move the playhead, then use the playhead buttons to set your start or end. Frames are sampled across the entire video.
Enter seconds or MM:SS.mmm / HH:MM:SS.mmm. Keep at least 0.1 seconds and at most 10 minutes. Preview playback is approximate; export boundaries follow available video frames and audio samples.
Source frames at the start and just before the end. Timestamps show available frames, not guaranteed export boundaries. Check the finished clip after encoding.
Export re-encodes the selected section. File size and quality may change. Dimensions are preserved where possible, with up to one pixel of padding for even dimensions. Only the primary video and sound tracks are kept; subtitles and extra tracks are excluded. Keep this tab visible while processing.
Play the beginning and ending and check the sound before sharing. Container support varies between devices and apps.
This tool keeps one continuous section. It does not join clips or remove a section from the middle. Your original is never overwritten.
Typing 12.500 selects 12.5 seconds from the input timeline. You can also enter 00:12.500. A video consists of individual frames, so a requested time between frames cannot create a new moment that was never recorded. Audio also has sample and codec boundaries.
The result reports both the selected interval and the measured output duration. Small timing differences can occur during encoding. Check that the first and last moments include what you intended.
MP4 uses H.264 video and AAC sound; WebM uses VP9 and Opus. Your browser must support decoding the source and encoding the output. If keeping sound fails, try the other format or explicitly remove sound. The tool does not silently create a muted copy.
Trimming here re-encodes the clip and is not lossless. A shorter clip can still have a larger file size if its new encoding uses more data. Use the video compressor if you also need a smaller delivery file.
Video contents stay in this browser for trimming; no media upload is required. The website still loads shared services and resources. Reloading or clearing discards the loaded video and result. Downloads remain on your device.
Limits are 512 MiB input, 3840 × 2160 total pixels with a 4096-pixel side limit, a 10-minute selection and a 256 MiB output budget. Actual device memory and codec support can impose lower limits. HDR, unusual rotation or colour metadata, variable frame rates and specialised tracks may change during conversion; inspect the output. Read the Privacy Policy or report a problem with your browser, file type and selected times.
Trimming removes time from the beginning or end. Compression changes how the remaining video is encoded. This trimmer re-encodes for the selected boundaries but does not promise a file-size target.
This tool re-encodes video and any retained audio, so quality may change. Keep the original if you need to edit again or use a specialist editor with a suitable lossless cutting mode.
The MP4 extension does not tell you which encoders your browser has. Try WebM or a different supported browser. If only audio encoding is unavailable, explicitly removing sound may allow export.
Yes. Cancel stops processing and discards the incomplete export. Your source file and time selection remain available.
