TURN YOUR CLIP THE RIGHT WAY.

Video Rotator & Flipper

Fix a sideways clip or mirror your video. Choose a quarter turn, check a transformed frame, then export a new MP4 or WebM. Your original stays unchanged.

Rotate the picture, not just a player instruction

This tool applies the selected transformation to encoded frames. A right or left quarter turn exchanges width and height; 180° keeps their order. No part of the picture is deliberately cropped. Existing source orientation metadata is included in the decoded starting view. Keep originals and inspect files with unusual orientation or colour metadata.

Use the video trimmer first if you only need part of a long recording. For a smaller delivery file, use the video compressor. For still pictures, use the image rotator and flipper.

Choose sound and format deliberately

MP4 exports H.264 video with AAC sound; WebM uses VP9 and Opus. Browser support for both source decoding and output encoding is required. If a sound encoder is unavailable, the tool reports it rather than silently muting your clip. You can choose another format or explicitly remove sound.

Every export, including 0°, is re-encoded and may lose detail or grow in size. Transparent video, HDR, colour profiles, subtitles, extra audio tracks and specialised metadata are not preserved reliably. This is a quarter-turn tool, without custom angles or batch export.

Local processing and practical limits

Your video contents are processed in this browser without uploading for rotation. The website still loads shared services and resources. Clearing or reloading discards this session; originals and downloaded files remain on your device.

Limits: 512 MiB input, 10 minutes, 3840 × 2160 total pixels, 4096 pixels per side and 256 MiB output. The predicted encoding budget may require a shorter video. Output availability is checked before you start. Narrow screens and lower-memory devices use smaller preview buffers; exported dimensions are unchanged. The original player loads on demand and pauses when closed. Device memory and codec support can impose lower limits. Use smaller clips on phones. Keep the page visible, and use Cancel to discard an incomplete export.

Check a frame, then check the export

The frame slider lets you inspect different points without exporting repeatedly. Settings changes update the cached frame and remove old downloads. Undo/redo covers rotation, flips, sound and output format; loading a new source starts fresh history.

A preview cannot guarantee that every receiving app will play the result. Play the finished clip before downloading. Read our Privacy Policy or report a problem with your browser, file type and export settings.

Video rotation questions

Can I rotate without losing quality?

This tool re-encodes the picture and any retained sound. It does not offer lossless stream copying. Keep your original.

Does it support portrait videos?

Yes, within the pixel and codec limits. The limits apply to total pixels, so both landscape and portrait orientations are supported.

Will my sound stay in sync?

Picture and retained sound are converted on the same timeline. The tool checks output duration and that requested sound exists, but you should also listen to the finished clip.

Can I undo settings?

Undo/Redo restore up to 100 edits, including reset. Outside form fields, use Ctrl/Cmd+Z or Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z. Changing settings clears stale downloads.
