    SVG is recommended for printing because it can be scaled without losing quality. These are static QR codes: their encoded content cannot be changed after downloading. The QR code itself has no expiry; linked content must remain available.

    Match the enquiry to a public contact workflow

    Use a number intended for enquiries and explain expected response hours in the surrounding sign. A click-to-chat link does not prove that the account belongs to the business named in your artwork; confirm the target in the actual app before distribution.

    Keep prefilled wording short and non-sensitive. A visitor still reviews and sends it, and WhatsApp controls its own service and privacy practices. The number and message are readable to anyone with the image; changing a staff contact requires replacement artwork.

    Enter an international number

    1. Use the full telephone number with its country code. The form accepts a leading plus sign and removes common formatting spaces and punctuation.
    2. Leave out a local trunk prefix when converting to international format. For example, the illustrative UK number 07700 900123 becomes +44 7700 900123.
    3. Use a number that is registered with WhatsApp. The generator checks the supported format, not the account’s existence or availability.
    4. Add a brief optional message, then scan the export and confirm that the expected chat and wording appear.

    What the generated link contains

    The tool builds an HTTPS wa.me link from the number and URL-encodes any message. You do not need to paste a wa.me link into the number field. A compatible device can open WhatsApp, WhatsApp Web, or a service page depending on its setup and sign-in state.

    A prefilled enquiry such as Please tell me about appointment availability gives the visitor a starting point. Scanning does not send the message, confirm an appointment, or prove that someone agreed to receive future marketing messages. The visitor reviews and sends it through WhatsApp.

    Use a business contact, not a pairing code

    This generator does not connect devices to an account, create a WhatsApp group invitation, or recover an account. Never substitute a device-linking or login QR image for a public contact code. Use a contact number appropriate for public display and avoid placing private customer data in the prefilled text.

    Prepare the printed contact point

    Add a short caption telling visitors what kind of enquiry the chat is for. Keep a modest logo and enough contrast; the automatic check must be treated separately from whether the chat opens on a real phone. Use Print assistant for the image width and DPI, or export an A4 sign with custom wording.

    If you change the number or message, create a replacement static code. For a standard text message rather than a WhatsApp chat, choose SMS.

    Questions about this tool

    Does the visitor need WhatsApp?

    They need a setup supported by WhatsApp to continue the chat. A phone without the app may show a service page; test the actual experience for your audience.

    Does eToolPlus handle chat messages?

    No. It creates the QR image locally. Opening a chat and sending a message happen through WhatsApp under that service’s terms and privacy practices.

    Can I use a group invitation link here?

    This form is for a telephone-number chat link. If you control an invitation URL, the general website generator can encode that URL, but access remains governed by WhatsApp.
